Cured Essence Relay
Terms of service
These terms describe access to Relay, the care expected of contributors and the rights that remain with creators.
1. About the service
Cured Essence Relay is a cultural publishing and exchange project operated from London, United Kingdom. It is a Cured Essence spin-off, focused on preservation, continuity and transformation through Passages, Constellations, sound, image and writing.
Contact Cured Essence Relay at art@curedessence.com. The privacy policy explains how information is handled.
Public visitors can browse previews. Full Archive access and playback, shared contributions and editorial publishing have separate access requirements, explained below. If you are not able to enter an agreement yourself, ask a parent or guardian to contact us before registering or submitting material.
2. Accounts and publishing permission
Provide accurate account information, keep your password private and use an account only with the account holder's permission. Do not impersonate another person or try to access someone else's account or private material. Contact us if you believe an account has been compromised.
Creating an account does not grant paid membership, editorial access or the right to publish. Receive + Transmit membership permits shared contributions, subject to review; it does not grant the right to publish independent Passages. The administrator grants publishing permission separately and may withdraw it when necessary to protect the service or address a breach of these rules. Publishers can manage and access their own authorised Passages without a paid plan; that permission does not unlock other publishers' full material. The administrator retains editorial control across Relay.
Google sign-in is not currently connected. If made available later, it will be an optional sign-in method rather than a grant of publishing authority.
3. Creative ownership and use of the archive
Creators and other rights holders retain their rights in the material they provide. Submitting material does not transfer copyright to Cured Essence Relay.
You may view and listen through the features the service provides. Publication, attribution or the availability of a file does not by itself give permission to copy, sample, remix, commercially distribute or use that material elsewhere. Obtain permission from the relevant rights holder unless an applicable legal exception or an express licence permits your use.
Sharing a link to a public Passage is welcome. Do not bypass access controls, extract private account information or present another person's work as your own. These rules do not remove rights that the law gives you, including applicable quotation or other copyright exceptions.
4. Submitting material and attribution
Submit only material you have the right to share for its intended use. This includes the rights in any music, recordings, samples, images, writing and performances it contains, and the appropriate permissions or other lawful basis for information about identifiable people. Naming a source or giving a credit does not replace permission.
Provide accurate credits, provenance and context where known. Make uncertainty clear, avoid invented attribution and tell us about restrictions that affect publication. Do not include private or sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for the work or that you are not entitled to share.
Proposed publication licence: for material you submit for publication, the intended permission is a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence limited to storing, technically formatting, displaying and streaming that material through Relay with appropriate attribution. Technical service providers may act only as needed to deliver those functions. This does not transfer ownership or authorise unrelated advertising, resale or other uses of your work. Material creative edits, translations or other uses beyond the agreed publication scope require appropriate permission.
This licence wording and how it is accepted will be confirmed before the final terms are adopted. Existing permission arrangements continue to apply meanwhile. You can request a correction or withdrawal by emailing the relevant Passage or contribution link to art@curedessence.com. We will assess the request, any rights of other people and any specific legal obligation. Relay cannot control independent copies already made by other people.
A submission is not a promise of publication. Drafts and shared contributions may require editorial review before they become visible to the relevant audience.
5. Conduct, review and restrictions
Do not use Relay to publish unlawful material, infringe rights, threaten or harass people, distribute malicious files, commit fraud or reveal personal information without an appropriate basis. Do not interfere with the service or attempt to defeat its security and permission controls.
We may restrict access, decline a submission, correct a credit or withdraw material where reasonably necessary to address a rights concern, a safety issue, a legal duty or a breach of the service rules. The response should be proportionate to the concern. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to ask for review. Urgent protection of people, information or the service may require action first.
To report a concern, email art@curedessence.com with the relevant link and a clear description. A report is assessed on its circumstances; payment or account status does not guarantee editorial publication.
6. External media and optional services
YouTube videos load only when you request the player. Linked websites and external media providers have their own terms and privacy practices, and their content may change or become unavailable. Relay does not control an external provider's availability or the rights in its content.
Automatic AI transcription and translation are not currently connected. If introduced, processing will require the relevant permissions and generated drafts will need editorial review. A transcript or translation should not be assumed accurate merely because software produced it.
7. Paid membership is not open
Checkout is currently disabled. Two monthly plans are prepared:
- Receive — £1.08 per month: full Archive access and playback.
- Receive + Transmit — £3.27 per month: full Archive access and playback, plus shared contributions subject to the service's review and conduct rules.
Public previews remain available without a paid plan. These are planned offers, not an active checkout or a charge for creating an account. Neither plan includes administrative or editorial publishing authority.
Before accepting payments, we will provide the required trading details and clear information about membership benefits, total price, payment interval, renewal, cancellation and applicable refund or cooling-off rights. Any required agreement to begin digital services during a cancellation period will be requested separately. This draft does not waive consumer rights or impose a “no refunds” rule.
No payment is due merely because you view these pages, register an account or review this draft. Any future checkout will identify the selected plan, its monthly price and renewal terms before you agree. Existing agreements will not be silently repriced or moved to a different plan. Paid terms and any changes to an existing paid contract will need their own appropriate notice and agreement.
8. Service availability and your legal rights
Relay may need maintenance, corrections or changes as the project develops. We aim to explain significant changes that affect access. Free access to a particular item cannot be guaranteed indefinitely, especially where a rights holder requests withdrawal or an external service becomes unavailable.
Nothing in these draft terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your statutory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected. These terms do not require you to waive a lawful remedy or submit to an exclusive foreign court or private arbitration process.
9. Questions, corrections and complaints
For account, publication, attribution or service concerns, contact art@curedessence.com. Include the relevant page or account username and explain the outcome you are seeking. Do not send passwords or unnecessary identity documents.
For a copyright or privacy concern, identify the material, explain your connection to it and provide enough information for us to assess the issue. Privacy requests and complaints are described in the privacy policy. Using our contact route does not prevent you from seeking advice or pursuing a remedy available under applicable law.
10. Finalisation and changes
The final terms will be dated and published before launch. Significant new obligations, paid-service terms or changes that require agreement will be presented clearly before they apply. We will not treat the publication of this draft as acceptance of new paid obligations or permission for a materially different use of your work.
